今日はインターンの桃子さんの最終日でした
今日は、インターンの桃子さんの最終日でした。ご自身の境遇から小学生の時に、「子どもの人権が守られてない」と感じ、「弁護士になりたいと思った」という桃子さん。幼い時にご両親が離婚し、父親を知らずに育ったそうです。父親から認めてもらえず、遺棄されたJFCたちのことを知り、ご自身の境遇を重ね合わせてインターンをしたいと思ったそうです。
Today was the last day of intern Momoko’s internship. With her own background, Momoko felt that children’s rights were not being protected when she was in elementary school and decided that she wanted to become a lawyer. Her parents divorced when she was small, and she grew up without knowing her father. When she learned about the JFCs who were abandoned and not recognized by their fathers, she decided to do an internship because of her background.
インターンの主な仕事の翻訳の中で、父親への想いを綴った手紙を日本語訳しました。そして、「父を知らずに育った私は何か欠けていて、不完全な人間です」と多くのJFCが言っていることを知りました。
In her main work as an intern, she translated into Japanese some letters JFC had written to their fathers expressing their feelings for their fathers. Then she learned that many JFCs said, “Growing up without knowing my father, I am an incomplete person, lacking something.
桃子さんはそんなJFCたちにメッセージをくれました。
「父親がいなくても、不完全な人間などではありません。むしろ、他人の痛みのわかる、強くて優しい人間です。」
Momoko gave a message to all these JFCs.
“Even if you don’t have a father, you are not an incomplete person. Instead, you are a strong and kind person who understands the pain of others.
いつの日かきっと子どもたちの気持ちに寄り添える弁護士さんになってくれると信じています。桃子さん、応援しています。
I am sure that one day you will become a wonderful lawyer who can comfort the children’s feelings. Momoko, We are always here to support you.
今日は、誉子さんお手製のお弁当で送別ランチをしました。
